Our group of three had an incredible day on the water, catching multiple snook throughout the trip. Some of them were so powerful that they headed straight for the mangroves before we could stop them. One of the highlights of the day was watching our friend hook into the biggest tarpon of the trip. We were all cheering her on as she battled the fish through several long runs and jumps. After an intense fight, the tarpon made one final leap and broke the line. She was exhausted but thrilled, needing a few minutes to sit down and recover before getting back to fishing. Tarpon are truly amazing fish. They scream line off the reel, dive deep, and then launch themselves into the air with incredible acrobatics. Captain Steve coached us on how to handle those jumps by lowering the rod and pointing it toward the fish. Of course, in the excitement of the moment, we occasionally forgot, resulting in a few lost fish. We laughed each time and called them "L.D.R.s" or Long Distance Releases. Even Captain Jeff got a kick out of that one. I managed to keep one tarpon hooked through three spectacular jumps by following Captain Steve's advice, but on the fourth leap, the fish finally threw the hook. Even without landing one, the challenge and excitement were unforgettable. Beyond putting us on fish, Captain Steve shared a wealth of knowledge about seasonal fish patterns, tides, water temperatures, and fish behavior. His experience and passion for fishing were evident throughout the trip. Although we booked a four-hour trip from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Captain Steve never watched the clock. Since the action was so good and we had nowhere else to be, he gladly kept us fishing for an extra 45 minutes. That extra effort did not go unnoticed. We were also impressed by how stable and comfortable the boat was, even when the water got a little choppy. From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. We honestly can't think of a single negative thing to say. The fishing was outstanding, the company was great, and Captain Steve made sure we had an unforgettable experience. We would gladly book another trip with him.

Captain Mike was fantastic! We were hooked up on fish within the first 10 minutes of the trip. We booked a half-day Tarpon trip and quickly got into some exciting action. Captain Mike suggested we spend part of the trip targeting Mangrove Snapper, Snook, and Spotted Seatrout, and we're glad we did. The fishing was outstanding. We limited out on Mangrove Snapper and stayed busy catching fish the entire time. The combination of Captain Mike's local knowledge, great attitude, and ability to put us on fish made for an unforgettable day on the water. Chum Em Up Charters exceeded our expectations from start to finish. To top it all off, we brought home fresh fish for dinner, and it doesn't get much better than that. We can't thank Captain Mike enough and will absolutely be booking another trip soon!

We had an unforgettable day on the water with Captain Michael in Punta Gorda! From the moment we stepped aboard, he was friendly, professional, and committed to making sure everyone had an amazing experience. The fishing was outstanding, with nonstop action throughout the trip. We landed an impressive variety of fish, including snook, snapper, redfish, and trout, keeping the excitement going all day long. This charter was part of a girls' getaway celebrating a 30th birthday, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of the entire trip. Between the beautiful scenery, great company, and incredible fishing, it was the perfect way to celebrate. Captain Michael's knowledge of the local waters and positive attitude made the experience even better. If you're looking for a fun, memorable, and productive day on the water, we highly recommend booking a trip with him. We can't wait to come back and do it again!

Great day out on the water with captain Mike! Knows his way around the harbor and all the good spots to fish! Put me on a ton of fish! Will definitely book again when I come back to visit!

Beautiful morning spent with captain Mike on the water. He brought us to many different areas to target different species, taught us different techniques and tried really hard to get the bite on for us. It was a slower day of fishing but we caught 4 different species and came home with dinner ! Great time and hope to be back in years to come.

We had a fantastic day out on the water with Michael! Conditions were a bit tricky with a fresh breeze and very low tide, but he adjusted the trip perfectly and put us right on the fish. We ended up catching plenty, and just as memorable was the great conversation and time spent with him. Michael’s knowledge, adaptability, and easygoing personality made the whole experience enjoyable. Highly recommend his charter if you’re looking for both a successful and fun day of fishing in Punta Gorda!

Captain Mike is professional, outgoing, and always makes sure you’re on the fish! We caught a variety of species, including snapper, snook, jacks, grouper, and Spanish mackerel. We’re already thinking about rebooking — you should too! 10/10 experience.

Captain Mike was awesome! We were only in town for the weekend from Michigan, and the weather didn’t look great for our scheduled trip. Mike offered to reschedule for the next day, and we’re so glad we did! We caught plenty of fish and had an unforgettable experience. We’ll definitely be back again — thank you, Mike! =)
